Early Crisis Intervention Program

(Part of A.I.M.)

The Early Crisis Intervention part of the (A.I.M) project is a program created to assist youth and young families in times of crisis. The program facilitates a healthy transition into adulthood for youths and assists young families who're in vulnerable situations such as teen mothers or young families who're in need of positive direction and practical solutions for successful living.

The Early Crisis Intervention program is meant to prevent or divert homelessness, unemployment or ill self sufficiency, domestic violence/victimhood, child abuse and family separation due to a lack of information, positive guidance or assistance.

The Early Crisis Intervention Program aims to be a pre-emptive approach, enabling a young person to better navigate life.

Long-term and Permanent Affordable Housing Program (Part of A.I.M.)

The Long-term and Permanent Affordable Housing Program, part of the A.I.M. project, seeks to help young people better identify appropriate housing opportunities.

Focusing on the ins and outs of finding independent housing, it teaches them how to locate affordable housing, teaches them how to create affordable housing solutions in order to solve short term problems and teaches them to value long-term housing, to want to stay in one place for a longer period of time.

Most foster kids or displaced young families move from place to place, often developing a transient lifestyle which children learn to cope with. Subsequently, children become desensitized to the constant destabilization in their temporary homes. Children often don't ever really get to put down roots and as young adults haven't acquired the skills to do so, this program aims to correct this.

In addition, this program helps place youths and young families in long-term and permanent affordable housing.

Temporary or intermittent housing referrals for homeless youths/young adults and displaced families are also being developed by this program.

Our Projects

Many youths and young families at risk of homelessness lack access to accurate and specifically useful information as well as the ability to act and capitalize on information in a timely manner.

We believe in giving youths specifically tailored, unique information that is accurate and appropriate; suiting the individual’s specific needs and capabilities, which is obtained and disseminated within a timely manor.

This model enables the person to move ahead confidently, toward successful upward mobility and a more secure foundation.

A lack of actionable intelligence insures the person will make critical mistakes, greatly diminishing a successful I.L.P.; creating successive barriers to self sufficiency, continued education and long-term/permanent housing while greatly increasing the likelihood of welfare involvement.

What do we mean by Actionable Intelligence for Youths?

The Actionable Intelligence and Mobilization Project (A.I.M.)

The Actionable Intelligence and Mobilization Project otherwise known as A.I.M. is a model for Self Sufficiency, Early Crisis Intervention, Continued Education, Long-term and Permanent Affordable Housing.

A.I.M. is a projected 2 year project and hopes to serve 150 TAY, 150 Families and 50 Individuals a year. A.I.M. is projected to begin accepting Consumers by September 2013.

Our Primary Goal is to provide actionable intelligence to transitional age youths (TAY) between the ages of 16 and 24 years old. Providing child specific, accurate information, designed to help each child develop a more successful Independent Living Plan (I.L.P.) with a projected success rate of over 7 years. This New Model I.L.P. provides a secure foundation for all other life goals.

Other Project Goals are:

  • Self Sufficiency

  • Early Crisis Intervention

  • Continued Education

  • Long-term and Permanent Affordable Housing.

Providing actionable intelligence is a fundamental goal practiced in all our Consumer Programs.

Abstinence Education

Abstinence Education and Self Esteem

(Independent Pilot Program For High Risk Youths)

(Includes LGBTQ)

The Abstinence Education and Self Esteem Workshop, is a 2 year pilot program looking to serve TAY and Young Adults ages 16 to 24 in the L.A. Metro area. This free workshop explains to youths the concept and practice of abstinence for the benefit of self preservation and promotes a positive self image.

Using a multi-disciplinary approach teens are better informed about how to identify healthy relationships and to choose Abstinence instead of risky sexual behaviors.

The goal of the program is to decrease unplanned pregnancies in teens and young adults. Additionally, youths learn what the long-term health benefits are for practicing abstinence. Teens learn how to make continuously healthy choices immediately and over the long-term.

Teens learn about birth control choices and safe sex planning, as well as strategies for maintaining a positive self image every day. In addition, youths learn good decision making skills that enable them to further their educational goals, increasing their lifetime earning power, and reducing the likelihood of generational welfare involvement.

The Abstinence Education and Self Esteem Pilot Program aims to reduce teen pregnancy in the L.A. Metro area over the course of 2 years by 5% or better. Los Angeles County has one of the largest populations in the country of out of wedlock or unplanned teen pregnancies.
